Avicenna Technology Brings Innovation to Tube Cutting
Montevideo, MN…Laser machining services provider Avicenna Technology Inc. has adopted a corporate
vision to "Improve Lives with Innovation". This new vision has spurred Avicenna to develop tube
cutting from a hidden element of turnkey laser machining into a stand-alone service offering.
Avicenna's tube cutting process employs multi-axis programmable automation to produce cut pieces
that hold +/-.005" in length and +/-.001" perpendicularity, with optional axial slits. Avicenna's
custom tooling can accommodate tube that varies in diameter from 0.125" to 0.010" and tube that
varies in property from lubricious to tacky, from rigid to pliable.
Avicenna can cut bulk tubing made of polyurethane, Hytrel, polyimide, PEEK, polyolefin, Teflon,
and silicone. Precision cut pieces produced by Avicenna are ideal for marker band and spacer
applications, and offer a competitive alternative to molded or machined components.
